This Matching Grant project in eastern Nepal has been official declared completed by The Rotary Foundation in November 2014.
The Matching Grant was approved in May 2011. Funding from The Rotary Foundation, District Designated Funds, the Rotary Clubs of Moruya & Dillibazaar - Nepal and The Asha Foundation now means the school children in the village of Kuntabesi will have access to water, 3 toilets, handwashing station, freshly painted school rooms, and resourse material. The children from the Disabled School also have a new disabled toilet, something unheard of in rural Nepal.
In September 2011, 3 volunteers from our club along with a member of the Rotary Club of Narooma and 3 non Rotarians travelled to Nepal to help paint the classrooms. They also attended a meeting at Dillibazaar Rotary, the joint partners in this project.
Our volunteer team - Rohan Gleeson, Christine Spain, Shellee Williams, Pauline Gleeson, Charmaine White, Steven Ubbergang & Barry Apps with school children who will benefit from the Matching Grant
