Moruya local Margaret Greig was our guest speaker last Wednesday night. Margaret’s life change dramatically when she was struck down with the polio aged 13 in 1950, resulting in the most dreadful form of spinal polio which left her a quadriplegic.
Margaret became a member of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) and began the slow process of brush control. Now the precision of her extraordinary skill is such that it provides a useful income from painting landscapes, cards and a children’s book. Margaret has travelled extensively in Australia and overseas, displaying her work in international exhibitions - the next in Perth in October.
Margaret’s artistry is astonishing as we saw in the framed paintings auctioned by Sergeant Barry.
Margaret is the sister of Bob Greig member of this club who passed away last year.
